Capturing Personality through Portrait Illustration

This black and white series was created during my senior year of high school and features people who have had various impacts on my life.

The subjects were all asked to pose for a photograph, which was then drawn using various materials like scratchboard, pen and ink, graphite and black colored pencil. The intention of these portraits is to display portions of the subjects personalities to the viewer, each unique and individual while still retaining aspects of a grouping such as lighting and composition.
